Claire Emery's botanical and scientific illustrations have been exhibited in juried shows nationwide, including the Oakland Museum's California Species show in 2001, the New York State Museum's Focus on Nature show in 2002 and the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum's Guild of Natural Science Illustrators Exhibition in 2004. She holds an M.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana, and a Graduate Certificate in Natural Science Illustration from UC Santa Cruz.
